About

Kent Means is an abstract artist known for his dynamic and colorful abstract paintings. Kent's work is an expression of his experiences, love of nature, work as an architect, and empathy for the human condition. His works are multi-layered and often show the interplay between expressive marks and hard edges or lines.

Kent's work has been exhibited at the Confluence Center, Zootown Arts Center, and Frame of Mind in Missoula, Montana. His work was selected as 2nd place at the Frame of Mind juried art show for 2026.

Background

Kent grew up in Missoula, Montana and was raised in an artistic family. His interest in art led him to a successful career in architecture as one of the partners of MMW Architects in Missoula. Kent has a Masters in Architecture from Montana State University and enjoyed many art classes and workshops throughout his life.

Vision

Kent hopes that his art draws the viewer in and they find their own meaning in each piece. He hopes the viewers will find:
